I woke up at 11 a.m. this morning and decided to just spend the day doing basically nothing. I'm watching Bravo's marathon of The Rachel Zoe Project. After a watching that many episodes, I realized Rachel and I have the same Blackberry - except her's is white and mine is black. But it's just a little nice feel. I hope everyone is having an amazing Christmas Eve. I spent the day with the mother and brother. We went to Galleria to do some last minute Christmas shopping and then got sushi - which is always a good thing. I opened one of my gifts and it just happens to be a nice little watch from Lucky Brand :) Always a good surprise. There's a Michael Kors box that recently showed up under the tree too, so we'll see what that turns out to be. Apparently Texas is supposed to have snow at some point this weekend, so we'll see if that happens. I'm about to head off to church and here's the outfit I'll be wearing.

Like the title says, it's currently 46 degrees in Dallas, Texas. I went out to have lunch with my mother at Luby's. She initially said a nice hotel and I figured it'd be a good excuse to break in this lovely skirt. However, she decided the hotel was too crowded and we ended up at Luby's. Guess who was overdressed? Me. Still, it's a lovely skirt and I definitely loved wearing it.

So I went to Northpark today, hoping to find my brother a gift - I did. However, I couldn't help but stop by Madewell for an attempt to find something affordable, and I did :) The top was $9.99 and the skirt was $19.99, considering the skirt was originally $88, I think I did a pretty good job. I hope everyone's holiday season is going swell! Only a few more days until Christmas!

It has definitely been a long time since I've posted. Next week marks exam week for the first semester and the last first semester exams I will ever have to take in high school. Unfortunately, that also means I have to start saving up for college for the following year. Next year, I plan to attend the University of Texas at Austin - Hook 'Em :) As for today...here's what I wore.

So basically the whole concept of this "sixties" outfit is due the fact that I have an affinity for extra credit - especially in AP biology class. It's been a while since I've posted and I adore this picture. My beloved friend Catherine and I have definitely enjoyed having a "double lunch period" due to being student council officers. So this is how we choose to spend it, taking pictures of our dress up outfits. Hope everyone's school year is going great; I will definitely update on my college application process more in depth in the near future. Let's just say I've only applied to one public college, and the rest are private, so the wait is extensively long.

I am very blessed to live only a 25-30 minute drive away from a Premium Outlet. There is where one will find a lovely Coach Factory Store with spiffy reduced merchandise. Luckily, I came on a day where they were giving out an additional 20% off already reduced merchandise. Although it took me forever to get to the registers, it was worth it. $42 later, I came home with a lanyard ID thing I've been meaning to buy because the free lanyards the school gives us for our IDs are not comfortable and a keychain/wallet type thing. Lanyard was originally $48, I got it for $23 and the key wallet thing was originally $48, I got it for $15 :) Life is good. Very good.

So I got my tax refund back from the government. Since I'm a teenager that gets paid only $8/hour, my tax return sucked. But, it did go towards a semi-decent purchase. I've been meaning to buy a pair of darker wash jeans, but not too dark. Martin + Osa, one of my favorite stores, had a sale that included jeans and an additional 20% off at check out. So for $23.50, I got myself a pair of jeans :)

Unfortunately, being a public high school kid in Texas, tomorrow I have a stupid state test called TAKS. Luckily, it's exit level and usually super easy. I've scored a perfect score several times because the state always has to dumb it down to make it fair for the rest of the school population that's not an AP kid. I'm definitely looking forward to senior year when I don't have to associate myself with TAKS and attacking the TAKS for hours of my day. I have more important things to learn.

Even though it's 30 degrees and has been snowing all day here in Dallas, RISD decides not to cancel school. So of course, being such a good high school student, we decide that since we have an easy sub that is a total sweetheart and won't count us absent, the amazing friend and I decide to head to Starbucks. At Starbucks, I purchase myself a grande skinny hazelnut latte, the usual of course, but this time I ask for a shot of expresso. Apparently, that translates as three shots to the barrista. My hands are still currently mildly shaking from the espresso, but not as much as they were during my classes. But I will admit, I was awake all day. That means, by this evening, I should hit my crash.

I think I may have a coffee addiction. My dentist is going to kill me at my next appointment.

I literally showed up at his door while he wasn't home and got his parents' permission to enter and decorate. My amazing best friend was there to help. Teenage boys...can't make their beds, so I attempted to straighten out a little, but not too much cos that's his job. Hopefully the kid likes it. Girls pay for guy dances...means the disappearance of my paycheck. Tickets: $70, Shirts: $30, asking supplies: $15, having a good date: priceless.

Tonight I spent the night at school at a Law Review hosted party to watch the Belo Debate between the three Republican Party candidates for Texas governor. Perry, Medina, and Hutchinson...FAIL. I've always leaned more towards Republicans than Democrats, seeing that I was raised in a conservative Asian immigrant Catholic family, it's not a surprise. My parents voted McCain, for those who care. I liked McCain pre-Palin of course. Palin fucked up McCain's campaign, and after watching Medina, she reminds me of a fat slightly less dumb version of Palin, therefore, she's lame. K. Bailey, she's a bit of a ditz too. Perry I guess would be the least dumb, so I guess he'll be the one to win. We'll have to pick the lesser of the three evils. Anyways, before heading to the debate watching filled with fattening Domino's pizza and soda (I had water instead), I headed to Starbucks. Of course, I ordered and happily consumed a warm skinny hazlenut latte. It's snowing here in Dallas and it's also around 30 degrees; the drink was fitting for the weather. There's my rant, not fashion related at all, just my rant.

Oh by the way, did anyone watch the State of the Union Address and Republican Response. Obama's speech was pretty decent, but then again, Democrats are generally better at public speaking than Republicans, and that's quite evident. However, I was a bit annoyed by Pelosi's constant standing ovations in the middle of Obama's "great moments" in his speech. Once again, the GOP fails miserably at responding. Why the hell would you send a governor that has been in office for 11 days to present a response to the president's speech? He sounded like an informercial the whole time, bothersome. Politicians have been failing lately. Please give them some better debating and public speaking skills. Thank you.

Because it's the winter season, lips will get chapped. I've always been a fan of Burt's Bees lip balm; both their Beeswax lip balm and their medicated lip balm. However, today, mom came home with a purchase of two tubes of Alba passion fruit nectar lip balm. Before unwrapping the package, I decided to do some research.

So after trying this new product, I have the following to say. It works pretty well, smells really nice compared to the beeswax smell that mom seems too hate so much. It's also really good for those who have extra dry lips but cannot handle the burning sensation of the medicated burt's bees formula. All in all, try it, but I think I'll stick to Burt's Bees for now. According to mom, Alba costs a few cents less than Burt's Bees. However, when I checked online, Burt's Bees actually costs less when it comes to the regular Beeswax lip balm. The medicated one is a dollar more, but it's medicated, so the higher price is reasonable.

Le Carousel Dress

So there's this dance at school called Carousel of Roses. It's basically a Sadie Hawkins dance that requires girls, like me, to spend around $100 on a guy. This year it's at the Westin Hotel Stonebriar in Frisco, Tx. In other words, my wonderful, and attractive date will have to drive us very far. But at least he'll have a wonderful date, me, in a nice dress.

The first day I actually get scheduled for the New Year and what do I do even before I clock in is walk around the mall and browse. I told myself I would only browse but found myself purchasing something. I've been told several times that I don't wear enough color or wear anything out of the ordinary. And I guess to some extent, that's true, and I came to realize that after I color coded my closet. Which resulted in me seeinig that my wardrobe consists of the following colors: grey, white, black, and blue. Although the purchase I made at J.Crew while at the mall is a blue cardigan, it has sparkles. It's somewhat old lady-ish in the picture and my crap camera does not do it any justice, I love it. Its sparkles make me feel...party girl yet classy. I call it the grandma sweater on crack. This is the part where you giggle a bit because of my bad humor.

I'm really fascinated by the beading detail in this and it didn't hurt that I barely spent over $22 on this cardigan. J.Crew equals amazing. I really need to get a better camera. Exams are coming up though which determine a lot of what will end up on my college transcript next year. This spring break I'm planning to do a college visit to the University of Texas. I'll fly there, but from Dallas it's not that far of a flight. Then stay with my cousin in her apartment, followed by her driving me home. Because well, she has to come back to Dallas for spring break anyways, so she might as well drag me along too. Well, it's late and I really should be in bed. Goodnight all.

So I know I haven't updated in a while but I have a good reason, promise. Being a junior in high school, I'm loaded with homework and studying. I've managed to drop out of mock trial because it takes up way too much time, but I love band too much to give that up. AP classes are much harder than I thought they would be. Luckily, I'm a pretty studious person so I can still mantain an A average in my classes, even if they're low A's, unfortunately. But I have done some shopping this holiday.

Good Weather in Dallas, What?

Dallas has been having the most amazing weather this week. It's the perfect amount of coldness where one can wear a light cardigan and jeans, and be stylish and warm. It's sunny with light cold breezes, and the temperature is usually in the high 60s. If only my teachers in school could allow me appreciate this weather more, instead of forcing me to stay inside to study and do homework for their classes.

My eyeliner's a bitch because I've worn it all day, so it's all smothered. I don't straighten my hair. Oh, and don't you just love the thumbnail shot? It's possibly the most unattractive thing ever.

Oh, I also didn't realize that the camera wasn't taking a shot of my face. Ooops, but I was too lazy and way too consumed by homework to reshoot it. Sorry.

So Close, Yet So Far.

Being the teenage girl that I am, I constantly text. The problem, however, is that I have 400 text messages per month. Guess how many times I've gone over at least $20? Every month, basically. So to save my parents from the hassle of spending more than the price of unlimited, I did a lot of begging and Mom basically gave in. That is, until she said "I have to discuss this with your dad first." But let's start from the beginning. Mom already agreed to get me a Blackberry Curve, T-Mobile was having a reasonably priced sale (you know Asian mothers can't resist good deals). The sales associate told us that in order to own a Blackberry, one must also purchase unlimited texting. DING DING DING. Unfortunately, mom didn't end up purchasing the Blackberry, or the unlimited texting for me. So, alas, I must wait until my contract actually expires in MAY 2010 to get a new phone, and unlimited texting. For now, I will go over my bill until my parents get the point.

On with shopping news. I've been to the mall basically every other day this week. This being the week before school starts, it makes sense that the parents would allow me to do so. I've probably spent more on OTHER people than myself though. I did manage to buy two pairs of Martin + Osa jeans, socks from Jcrew (I know, socks), a fleece from Eddie Bauer (for band warmth purposes, not stylish at all), and some body lotion from Coach. Here are shots of the only decent things I bought, the jeans.

And yes, I did get these hemmed the next day. Being pathetically short, I had to or else I would destroy the bottom of these jeans in a matter of days. The boot-cut is actually a lighter blue-ish gray wash. My terrible phone camera doesn't produce good images. I had to do some editing to even get the pictures to turn out halfway decent. Keyword: HALFWAY.

Change of plans this weekend, Rustin decided to drive up to Dallas on Saturday when I was definitely not prepared to look any bit decent since I was at work. Old Navy is not a place to attempt to look decent, trust me. I think I dress nicer at school than I do at work. Anyways, we ended up having dinner with his friend Jordan at Grand Lux Cafe at the Galleria Mall, where I work.

Anyways, I'm about to go get ready for the shopping trip I've been putting off all summer. My beloved friend Stephanie is going to accompany me and I'm finally going to spend the paychecks I've been working my ass off to earn all summer. Can you believe it, I only spent one paycheck this summer, and that was the first on that barely had any money on it. I'll leave you with some food porn.

So the Northpark trip wasn't as successful shopping-wise as I wanted it to be. I ended up purchasing two pairs of jeans from my favorite store, Martin + Osa, and had amazing Starbucks with Stephanie and Alayna. I purchased a necklace from Forever 21, by the way. It's just a random bird necklace because I wear vitually no jewelry, so I figured I would branch out a bit. Going to the school tonight to play for the little freshman orientation, as well as working the table for the club I'm president & founder for.

I know I'm incredibly behind compared to all you music junkies, but I'm currently listening to a playlist of All Time Low's songs. My dear friend and I were driving to Sonic the other day and she blasted a couple of their songs in the car and I figured I should continue listening to their songs as I blog. They're quite amazing. As for the second "Low" in this post, I'm referring to Mr. RCLow and the incredible shopping trip we are going to have together this Sunday when he comes to Dallas to visit. I've recently purchased this lovely cardigan from Gap that I've been dying to wear with my comfy Madewell jeans. And of course, some old worn out black flats that just seem to go with everything.

Still haven't bought that camera I asked you guys about the other post because I still have to pay a $300 band fee as well as a $100 SAT class by the end of this month. Camping and Furniture.

I have been gone since Thursday afternoon because of a leadership camp called COPE in Athens, TX that I was forced to attend as a result of becoming a member of the leadership team for band. I learned one main thing: I am a city girl. I'm used to a cell phone connection with at least a three bar signal, running water in a shower that doesn't have ants and other critters, and a matress isn't a twin, hard as a rock, and has mysterious brown streaks/stains across it. I have learned that I love my mother's cooking and that a clean bathroom that smells acceptable is a luxary. I have also learned that keeping a room at 70 degrees is the perfect temperature and if someone decides to change it to 55 degrees, I will get goose bumps, have a runny nose, and wanna shoot myself because I can't sleep. Lastly, 18 girls and two bathrooms is the worst you can do to female teenagers.

Now that I have managed to come up with a paragraph of complaints about my terrible camping experience, on with the semi-fashionable/life part of this blog.

My parents and I have been meaning to get a new sofa, and this is the final choice we came up with. What do you guys think? I love Ikea, so it wasn't a surprise when we ended up choosing this one. We'll see if the parents finally follow through and purchase a good sofa. It's a MÅNSTAD corner sofa-bed with storage. I'm fascinated.

Closet Cleaning

I am spending the day today cleaning out my closet. I've managed to pack up two bags full of clothing I don't wear anymore and am planning to sell to Plato's closet. It seems, these days, that all kids my age want to wear is Abercrombie, Hollister, Aeropostale, and American Eagle. So that kind of clothing, my friends, are the ones I'm selling. Please forgive me, but there was a point in time when that's all I wore, and now there's two bags full of them for me to get rid of. The jeans I'm getting rid of, however, are a bit more diverse. Consisting of Aeropostale (lame), Delia's (they're just huge on me), and of course DKNY. I didn't really want to part with the DKNY pair so much but honestly, they make me look like I have wide hips and no bum what-so-ever. And it's not like I purchased them for some ridiculous amount of money anyways. On sale for ten dollars (:

As for the millions of plastic headbands that I have come to replace with better ones, I'm giving them to a neighbor, who is around 12 years old. She'll use them a lot more than I ever will from now on.

So here's to a new wardrobe with more "mature" style in it. I will fill my closet with clothing that is more versatile, rather than base it off of the brands that kids my age tend to steer towards. I pinky promise.

I'm not really surprised at all that Anna won The Fashion Show. Her designs in her final line were the most sellable and marketable. While James Paul and Daniella were the more creative, The Fashion Show winner was chosen by votes casted by average Americans who would rather have wearable everyday clothing rather than out there or avante garde. Congrats to Anna!

Watched Harry Potter yesterday. Tom Felton sings...? I'm in love with his suit. Short post. I must get ready for a clarinet lesson. But as for my opinions on his singing...

His playing is pretty amazing, I must admit that. I dunno whether it's because I've been living in America and his extremely thick accent annoys me in the song, or because his voice is just a little too wannabe John Mayer, but I'm not a fan of it. His singing that is. It's not bad, but there's nothing too spectacular about it. And now all the Tom Felton lovers are going to kill me for posting this "review." He's an amazing actor though, so it's not like I have anything against him and I do think it's sweet that most of the songs are probably about his girlfriend (: I think this second video's a little better.

The title is pretty self-explanatory. If I ever hope to continue this blog, I will indeed, have to get myself a reasonable camera. My last one, receieved on my 12th birthday (what the hell were my parents thinking), is a crappy Kodak Easyshare with 3.2 px capability. Which is basically crappier than the majority of cell phone cameras today. TERRIBLE. I'm aiming for just some decently priced ones around 10 mega px (or maybe less, but not much) and start from there. Once I manage to save up some more cash, I'll be able to purchase a decent digital SLR for myself. Which will probably consume about two paychecks...actually more like one and a half if I get just a basic one.

So Rustin tells me he wants me to keep this blog going. I think he's crazy, but whatever. I've managed to drug myself with caffiene tonight (tea and coffee), so I'll be up until two wondering what to do. I figured I should go more into detail about a recent lovely purchase I mentioned in the last post.

Obviously, this isn't me, but rather a picture of some model...modeling the coat/jacket thing I bought. Yes, this is where my paycheck goes: clothing. I'm such a typical teenaged girl.

Dallas is supposed to be such an exciting city to live in. But I haven't expreienced much excitement this summer at all. All work and studying for SATs/PSATs can kill an entire summer. If only I had auto insurance, then I could at least borrow the car to drive myself someone exciting. But then I'd probably come back and receive some form of punishment.

Having this blog is almost absolutely pointless. I haven't had any new outfit posts in forever or comments for that matter. This blog is dying. Go have fun stalking me on Twitter and whatnot. I'll revive this senseless blog one day. Probably when I get a better camera. And once I stop being afraid to spend the money I earn. Why am I so fearful when it comes to using my OWN debit card? I work hard for that money? Why am I so afraid to spend it? :( Maybe it's the knowing that I should be saving up for things that are truly worth it rather than "re-creating" my new wardrobe. Which I've been trying to do for...say the past three years of my teenage life.

I'm sick and tired of the typical American Eagle/Abercrombie/Hollister trend I follow. Sure, AE & HCo have great jeans that I'm basically obsessed with...but I don't buy much else from there. And Abercrombie does have great sweaters...but my laundry skills completely destroy any potential for them to last long. And my up and down weight destroys any potential of keeping them forever either. I guess off to Plato's Closet I go the end of this summer to sell all of my "rubbish" and create a new more...adult-like wardrobe. I've already started a bit. I managed to purchase a nice autumn coat (yes, I know I have a lot) in navy from Martin + Osa. Love that store. Which adds to my collection of coats. The Kenneth Cole Reaction in gray, the Nine West in cropped black, and of course my favorite, the Calvin Klein pea coat that I love. So warm.

Here's to a new wardrobe and a long hiatus of this blog.

Alexa Chung, aside from beautiful, has a new show called It's On With Alexa Chung. At first, I really thought the show was going to be a total wreck and a TRL wannabe. But surprisingly, it's pretty amazing. Before heading off to summer school each day for the first two weeks of June, I tuned in to watch her interview celebrities (really big named ones), joke about the latest news, and amazing performances by musicians. But the thing I look most forward to is the outfits she wears each day. She's not the "typical" beauty with long blonde hair and what not, but she is quite lovely and can pull off any look that is put on her. Every outfit she wears seems to exude beauty. Then I searched her show via Facebook, but came up with "Alexa Chung, model" WHOA, that explains EVERYTHING. She's first of all, a model. But she seems to be a more rock n' roll sort of model. I am surprisingly looking forward to watching NYC Prep. Not because the show has any true value, but because the supposed "preppy style" these kids have aren't that bad. I'm more fascinated by the clothing they're wearing than by what comes out of their mouths. Based on the preview, Camille seems to be the only intelligent one who actually cares about getting into a great college to excel in life. The others, are more interested in climbing the social ladder and hooking up with everyone and partying like there's no tomorrow. So shoot me if I'm somewhat looking forward to the "fashion" presented in this show. It's the only thing that seems to be somewhat interesting to me right now. Maybe I'll change my mind once it actually premiers on Bravo on the 23rd. Which I only happen to know because I just Googled it.

Texas is known for its constant change in weather. It was incrediably warm and sunny the other day, and now it's around 50 degrees Farenheit. Thanks goodness for my wonderful Calvin Klein coat to protect me as I went to church this morning. Yes, I have a dead look on my face from all the studying I've been doing lately. And yes, that is my excuse for not posting lately. But hey, better late than never right? I dunno whether it's the warm weather and lack of sun or because of the lighting, but I look awfully pale in this picture. I'm actually naturally tan. Probably the lighting. I went to Asian American Leadership & Education Conference over the weekend at Southern Methodist University. One of the speakers was a designer/singer name Karen Noseff. Her premium denim collection, Fortune Denim, is amazing. The sample pair of jeans she passed around for all of us to look at were of great quality. I definitely think it's up there with 7 for all mankind and true religion. She also mentioned to us that she was a singer, but when we asked her to sing for us, she refused. I looked her up on her official website like she informed us, and figured out why. Her songs aren't all that great. Actually, none of them are great at all. You can go check her out if you want to. She seems like a fairly nice person, but her singing needs some work. Some creativity. Some real lyric workings. But her denim collection, damn, no lie. It's amazing. My internet hasn't been working for the past couple of days. But I'll be shopping today, so here's what I'll be wearing. I managed to dig through my stuff and find the old digital camera with only 3.2 pixels that I received for my thirteenth birthday, it works fairly well, I guess. As for school, I finally watched the Peter Perfect episode last night that features my school's Spiritwear shop. I saw all the hoodies that said 'Eagles" and the cheerleaders and recognized all the face. Well, almost all. Peter Ishkan made Richardson, TX seem like a hick town. Is he aware that the store he "renovated" is in DOWNTOWN RICHARDSON?! In other words, if he were to drive oh say even just a mile down, he'd see two story houses and great neighborhoods, and country clubs? Yeah, I think he was too busy making a mockery of our city. We're not hicks gosh damnit. More than half of us don't even have southern accents!

Okay, enough with my complaints. Actually I lied. School has been filled with stress. All I've been doing is taking tests and quizzes. I don't have as much homework per se, just a lot of studying. Hopefully that means I'll be super duper high in rank by the end of this year, if I keep doing well. Rather than 34/614 that is. Our class lost 100 people, oh my! The sophmore class used to have 714. That's a big drop.

Where I Live & The Holidays

Two more days until Christmas
& tonight is the third night of Channukah

I went to the Richardson Civic Center/Town Hall for a council meeting last night for my "law journal" One thing I came out learning was that regardless of the "freedom of religion" amendment, a prayer is still said before a meeting starts. It's just like that right before Congress takes session. But I guess it's fitting since everyone on the board was an elderly white male or female. Not to be racist, but that's just the general demographic that was seen. I was the only Asian in the room. But I guess that's what I get for living in the Richardson area.

Richardson's a small city next to Dallas just in case you aren't aware of that. It's a good city, there are barely any exciting events, except for the annual Santa's Village right by the Richardson Public Library.

Anyways, the meeting was basically, long story short, about finanances and the only thing that stuck in my mind was the word "yield" which they used quite often.

On to "holiday news."

My family's not big on the whole "surprise!" sort of factor. So they usually "hide" all the presents in my closet. And they're usually not even wrapped that thoroughly, at least MY gifts aren't. I already know what I'm going to receive for Christmas, and I'm quite satisfied with it.

I'm a big fan of journals, for Christmas, I didn't ask for anything amazing, just for a simple journal and a planner. I hope I get both (: Without a planner, I think I wouldn't know what to do next. I write all my assignments down in classes, important dates, competition dates, and so on. It's like...my life at a glance. As for jounals, they're just so pretty. Whenever I have time, I write because I can let out everything.

I shopped and bought: perfume from Banana Republic & a dress shirt from Martin + Osa. The shirt's slighly rinkled because I wore it today to church. It reminds me of a girl version of a man's tuxedo shirt. You know, the one's that have "extra drama" when you look at it up close.

I also bought a skirt from Urban Outfitters ($9.99!! orignally $58!!) And I tried to see if it could work for both summer and winter. I think it's better off being a summer thing. Still very lovely though. I've been meaning to get a skirt like this. Yay! My face is disgusting today: no make-up. I look so angry in this picture. I received my "College Search Journal" from Sweetbriar College the other week and even though I'm not really all that interested in an all girls college, I will admit it's possibly the most adorable thing that a college has ever sent me. It's Pictures on the left.

As for the planner on the right, I got it a while back as a birthday gift and I'm planning to use it for the 2009 year. I've already filled in the dates and important events for the year under the monthly section. The weekly section is still empty and the memo and notes section is blank. But it's too adorable.

So far the planner is filled with mock trial related practices and competitions, along with band rehearsals and competitions. Along with the mock trial trip to state (we always make it to state) and of course the band spring trip to Corpus Christi.

So we didn't make it to state. We placed sixth in finals at area. So I guess you could say we're the sixth best marching band in our area, which is three regions. But still, it hurts to know that after all that hard work, we still lost to bands that were twice our size. I mean, we're only 160 strong, and that's pretty small for a 5A school.

Homecoming week is coming up and tomorrow kicks off with "Math Monday." In other words: dress "nerdy." Okay, so I'll wear my glasses instead of contacts, but I guess I'll be one of those "stylishly smart" people who can't manage to find anything nerdy about a plaid button-up shirt, or a pair of glasses. Those are actually very in this season.

I'll be busy for the rest of the week. Mock trial practice tomorrow evening, Friday I have to perform at a football game, and then Saturday is the Region 3 UIL Area competition. I'll be doing that all day and then on Sunday, HOMEWORK HOMEWORK HOMEWORK. I guess I'll just leave you with a Kurt Halsey Frederiksen work of art. A Celebrity in the Midst of Suburbia

My highschool isn't known for sports, we finally broke our continuous losing streak of three years this year. But that's only because we transferred districts to 5A-3, which has smaller schools than our previous ones. So we managed to win some games. Shocking. But what it's going to be known for after the next Peter Perfect episode airs is our ability to act extremely happy even after losing horribly to another school in our district.

Peter Perfect was fixing up the spirit wear shop by our school and then attended our latest football game last night. He spent most of his time with the cheerleaders doing a cheer that we haven't done since last year. Because well, the varsity cheerleaders this year aren't as great as last year's, duh. Then he attempted to conduct next to our head drum major. Poor thing, he kept trying to get off the podium cos he was so gosh darn scared to stay up there.

My impressions: he's a bit of a coward, I mean, if a 17 year old slender girl can stand up there and conduct at every football game, why can't he do it for just five minutes for footage? He shaved. He's not really all that hairy in person. He doesn't really speak all that loudly. On his show we see him as someone really loud and out there and to be honest, I could barely hear what he was saying throughout that whole "let Peter pretend to be a drum major and look like an idiot" frenzy. As much as I love the man and his show, he's so not what I expected. But we can't blame him.

And the sad part of all this is that I was the only one in the entire band who actually knew who he was. Apparently Style Network hasn't really reached the rest of my friends yet. But sadly, I probably won't show up on television, sorry you guys. They'll probably erase my face cos I forgot to turn in that release form, oops. I'm sorry, I'm too busy being a student to care about my face being plastered across national television.

I'm going to Target this afternoon after church and my goal is just to purchase some random outfit for "dress for success" on Wednesday for UIL. I'm thinking of getting one of these.

I'm leaning more towards the first one. And yes, I'll have black tights under. I'm thinking about getting a pair of black flats too. And I already have a shirt for it, and a great locket necklace. I'll be set. And then I guess I should bring a jacket just in case my testing room is cold like it was last year.

So I didn't end up wearing those tops, I'll post a picture tomorrow. Didn't watch movies, but we did go to the mall where the amc was. Met some pretty cool kids there, okay, can't exactly call 2 of them kids, more like college...freshmen/sophmores? I dunno, didn't bother to ask. But definitely cool.

Last night was our first football game of the season, gosh, it was so close. 24 to 21, urgh, we only lost by three points! But it's an improvement from last year; I've never played the fight song so many times in one game. I guess that makes going to bed at 1:00 a.m. worth it.

Anyways, I'm going to a friend's movie party tonight and so I decided it was time for me to fix those shorts I've been meaning to. I bought these capri shorts that come down to my knee from American Eagle that were mentioned in my "back to school shopping" post, but they looked hideous on me. I never could pull off that look since my legs are incrediably short, and my torso extremely long. So I decided that I should cut them.

And I'm thinking about wearing them like this tonight at the party.

Labor Day Weekend Rants

Happy Labor Day! No school, woo! What have I been doing? Well, yesterday I spent the afternoon curled up on my couch watching Project Runway re-runs and writing invites for my sixteenth birthday. Yes guys, my "sweet sixteen." I'm not the type to go for anything extravagent, but I guess 20 people at a Vietnamese restaurant my dad works part-time at sort of counts as out of the ordinary for me. And besides, it'll be the last party I'll be having in a long time. I'm not much a party planner as I am a go-er. Here's what the invites look like & the restaurant:

Okay, so enough about my personal celebrations, on to something more "fashion related." I managed to purchase shoes for mock trial, yay! And after getting those yesterday, we stopped by Ann Taylor Loft and I found some great sandals too!

I'm paying $200 for my band operations fee on my own, so I guess that's my gift to them? I dunno.
